Since MEXAS was founded in 2020, we have collaborated with the NGO Mujeres Aliadas, an organization that promotes sexual and reproductive rights for women in vulnerable situations.

In Michoacán (the Mexican state where we produce), many women live in remote areas where hospitals are far away and access to medical care is limited.

Mujeres Aliadas provides sexual education talks, free gynecological check-ups and support during childbirth. These women also receive guidance and support to help them make informed decisions about their wellbeing and that of their families.

This work is essential, as the lack of resources and education in the area is alarming: there are not enough hospital beds for childbirth, not enough midwives and limited access to sexual education. This results in untreated illnesses due to lack of gynecological care, health complications for newborns and high C-section rates.
