MEXAS SIZE GUIDE

Every foot is unique — and at MEXAS, we know it.

That’s why we offer different shapes and fits to match the diversity of feet and needs.

Follow these steps to find your perfect pair of MEXAS.

📏 How to measure your foot (and avoid common mistakes!)

To find the best MEXAS size and fit for you, it's important to measure both the length and width of your foot properly.

⚠️ Don’t measure directly with a tape on your foot — that can lead to mistakes. The best way is to trace your foot on paper, with your full weight on it. We’ll show you how just below.

🧡 Tip: Measure your feet at the end of the day, when they tend to be slightly more swollen.

Measure the length (L)

  1. Place a sheet of paper on the floor, right up against a wall.
  2. Stand on the paper with your heel touching the wall.
  3. Mark the tip of your longest toe with a pencil.
  4. Measure the distance from the edge of the paper to the mark — that’s your L (length).
  5. Do the same with your other foot and go with the longer measurement (most of us have one foot slightly bigger!).

Measure the width (A) and (B)

  1. Trace the full outline of your foot.
  2. Measure the width at the metatarsal area — the widest part of the forefoot, right where your toes begin to spread.
  3. That’s your “A”, the one you’ll see in our size guide.
  4. Now measure the widest part of your heel, where it rests on the ground.
  5. That’s your “B”, which helps show how the shoe will fit around your heel.

Done! Note down your measurements on your phone so you have them ready next time :)

📐 Compare your measurements and choose the fit that suits you best

MEXAS FIT – Traditional

Classic front, slim fit, with a more stylized toe shape. Perfect if you don’t need much room for your toes or if you're not used to seeing yourself in a wide, anatomical front.

  • Flexible sole with a light drop in all our traditional huaraches like CATRINA, FOLKLORE, SAHUAYO, ACAPULCO, CHIAPAS, etc.
  • Non-flexible sole with platform in all our espadrilles: CHETUMAL

KARLA FIT - Anatomical

Anatomical front, but with a snugger fit.

This is a slim-to-medium fit, ideal for those with narrow or medium feet who want comfort without the shoe looking too wide.

It’s perfect if you're after a sleek look with more space than a traditional fit, but not as roomy as a pure barefoot style.

Available in different sole types:

Flexible sole, zero drop, closed front (AZTECA / MAYA BAREFOOT)

Flexible sole, light drop, open front (AZTECA, ALEBRIJE)

Stiff leather sole, open front (TACO, TORTILLA)

NOPAL FIT - Anatomical

More spacious anatomical front, comfortable for medium to wide feet.

This fit is currently only available with a transition sole that has a slight drop.

BIO FIT - Anatomical

Extra wide anatomical front. Our widest and most foot-friendly fit.
Stiff sole, but super durable. Perfect for wide feet that need maximum space.

Frequently asked questions about sizing

In styles with an open heel and ankle strap, you can go for a slightly looser fit if you like the feeling of more freedom.

However, for our traditional huaraches with a closed back, it's better to go for a snug fit from the start.

The leather will stretch slightly over time, and if they feel too loose at first, they may end up slipping or losing grip as you walk.

Yes. Since they're made of natural leather, MEXAS adapt with wear.
That’s why we recommend a snug fit at first, especially for styles with a closed back like our huaraches.

All leather shoes stretch a little with wear.

That’s why we recommend trying on your MEXAS at different times of the day — feet can change! They’re usually more swollen in the evening, and almost everyone feels it more in summer.

How much will they stretch exactly?

We can’t give you a precise number, because it depends on your foot shape and the model you choose.

🧡 If you’re unsure about how much a specific style will stretch or which size to pick, just write to us on the website chat.

Bea and the team will be happy to help you find your perfect fit!

Barefoot styles have a zero drop and a flexible sole.
Transition models come with a light drop and a flexible sole.
The BIO fit is our widest and most foot-friendly, but it has a rigid sole.
You can check out detailed comparisons in the fit guide.

Drop is the height difference between the heel and the front of the shoe (where your toes rest).

If the shoe has zero drop, it means the heel and toe are at the same level — like walking barefoot.

If it has drop, the heel sits higher than the front — though at MEXAS, the drop is always gentle (for example: 2 cm heel / 1.5 cm front).

In short: The lower the drop, the more natural your stride.

In this map you can see all the stores where you can find MEXAS.

🧡 Important: Our barefoot models are currently not available in physical stores — they’re only sold online.

But don’t worry: our chat and fit guide are here to help you find the right size from home!

Most MEXAS are made with vegetable-tanned leather, which means no chrome — they're safe for people with allergies.

However, some pastel styles are chrome-tanned, so we recommend avoiding them if you’re allergic:

SAYULITA, CATRINA, APAPACHO, BACALAR, and SAN PANCHO (yellow).

If you’re not sure about a model, just ask us via the chat — we’re happy to help 🧡
