The NOPAL sandal is our most visually enclosed design — but with the same barefoot spirit at heart.
It’s made to give you comfort, flexibility and freedom with every step, featuring a closed woven front that hugs your foot gently and an artisanal look you'll love. -
It uses the same NOPAL last as the CHILAQUILÓN model, making it a perfect transition shoe toward barefoot. It's more respectful of your feet than conventional shoes, with a gentle drop and a soft, flexible sole.

IMPORTANT: This is not a true barefoot shoe (it has a slight drop), but it’s an excellent option if you want a wider fit, beautiful design and all-day comfort.

📏 See the third photo for exact last measurements. We recommend measuring your foot and allowing 0.5 cm of extra room for comfort. The leather will soften and mold to your shape over time.

We recommend that you choose your usual size. If they fit tight the first few days it is always better since, being made of leather, they will eventually adapt to your fit.

Origin
Huaraches are a traditional Mexican shoe, and at MEXAS, we honor this heritage by using only raw materials sourced from Mexico. We work hand in hand with different workshops to design new models, exploring color combinations and developments that keep this beautiful tradition alive for longer.
Composition
Vegetable-tanned cowhide leather* except for pastel-colored models.
Care
You can clean them with a damp cloth, being careful not to get them too wet as they may darken.
Our warehouse is in Madrid and is open from Monday to Friday. All orders placed before 3:00 p.m. are shipped on the same day.

100% handmade
Our huaraches are 100% handmade in Mexico following a traditional process with more than 500 years of history.
Chemical-free natural leather
The leather we use is vegetable-tanned and free of chemicals. MEXAS are suitable for those with chrome allergies.
They adapt to your fit
Since they are made of leather, they gradually stretch and adapt to your foot shape. They are very lightweight, flexible, and breathable, thanks to their signature woven design.
Social impact
We donate part of the profit from each sale to an NGO called "Mujeres Aliadas", located in Michoacán, the region where we produce our shoes.
